Celebrate Heikinpäivä with us at Small Craft & Takka with cozy vibes, special cocktails, and winter traditions all weekend long.
January 24 – Polar Plunge (1–3 PM)
After nearly a decade, the Polar Plunge returns. Take part in this bold winter tradition with an icy dip along the Hancock Boardwalk, followed by free short sauna sessions to warm up and reset. There’s no fee to participate, though a $5 donation is encouraged. Whether you plunge or cheer from the sidelines, expect a lively winter gathering by the canal.
January 24 – Bosio Biscuits (2–8 PM)
Bosio Biscuits will be rolling in during the afternoon, serving up irresistible yums throughout a full day of Heikinpäivä festivities!
Jan 24 — Canal-Side Curling Demo (2–4 PM)
Get a feel for the quirky winter sport of curling during this interactive demo led by Drew Grohowski of Copper Country Curling. Learn the basics, hear a few stories, try your hand at sweeping, and share a few smiles along the way.
Jan 24 — Beer Poking (3–5 PM)
Warm up with Bierstacheln, a cozy German tradition where a hot iron is dipped into your beer, creating a lightly caramelized, toasty sip that’s perfect for winter afternoons.
Jan 25 — Takka Flow with Danielle
Slow things down and close out the weekend with Takka Flow, a grounding and restorative session led by Danielle. Designed to help you reset, reconnect, and ease into the week ahead.
Heikinpäivä is a community-wide celebration across the Copper Country, and one that continues to grow each year.
